Volunteers Choices, choices, choices ~ What should I do? Volunteering can be great fun! Each and every one of you are an important part of our Dolphin Team! Everyone benefits – you, your child, and the team! But remember, WE CAN’T DO IT WITHOUT YOU! Here are some examples of the volunteering positions available:
Timer
~ You work the stop watch and/or record the time of each swimmer in your
lane. Punctuality is a must. You must be there from start to finish of
the meet. Runner ~ Deliver heat sheets to the Timers. Take completed heat sheets from the Timers to Statistics. You will be there from start to finish of the meet. Greeter/Hospitality ~ You must arrive 30 minutes prior to the start of the meet. You will check-in each volunteer and swimmer before the meet begins. After that, you will take water to the Timers and Coaches throughout the entire meet. You will be needed from start to finish of the meet. Chaperone ~ It is best if you have a child in the age group you sign-up for. You need to be there when the meet begins and stay until your assigned group has completed swimming. You will stay with your group the entire time. You will have the children ready for each heat and bring them to the coaches when it is time. Assist with the coaches in lining them up. Ribbons & Statistics ~ As the results and ribbons are printed, you will attach the stickers to the appropriate ribbon. We will need one Heat Winner Distributor at each home meet to hand out ribbons to the winner of each heat, which means you will stand on the deck to pass these out. We will need one person to dictate the stats as they are input into the computer. For each of these positions you will be needed from the start of the meet and stay until all statistics and ribbons are completed.
